A bike tour benefiting
M.S. is scheduled for August 9th. The tour begins and ends at Arms Park in Manchester. There are 3
legs (25 mile, a 50 mile and 100 mile) as the tour winds its way through the back roads of
Manchester, Bedford, Merrimack, Amherst, Mount Vernon, New Boston, Dunbarton, Goffstown and back to
Manchester. There will be Key stops along the route that will be manned by Amateur radio personnel.
The MS society provides everyone with a great lunch at the end of the ride. (Last year was catered
by Famous Daves' Rib Shack).
Things to bring HT's with extra batteries a mobile radio if you have one,
(some stops will need the higher power of a mobile rig), safety vest, water or your favorite drink
and some munchies to tide you over till the end. A chair to relax in. A Common understanding of a
Directed Net Protocol. A common understanding of you radio and your user manual. This event is not
the time to test out that newradio.
Last year the tour was over by 2 PM. Those that live in the Nashua area that
wish to help out will have first dibs on the Amherst, Merrimack and Mount Vernon spots Please
